History

A Nantes Heritage Reimagined.

Formerly owned by the Lefèvre-Utile family—founders of the famous LU brand—and then the historic headquarters of Maisons du Monde, the Château du Portereau carries within it the mark of the grand hours of Nantes entrepreneurship. Located in Vertou, between the Muscadet vineyards and the banks of the Sèvre Nantaise, the estate has always combined architectural elegance with a connection to its terroir.

In 2024, the Ben Touch Group is undertaking the transformation of the site into a 4-star hotel, investing nearly 10 million euros in a meticulous restoration that respects the soul of the place while offering it a new purpose. The Château du Portereau was inaugurated on 12 May 2026, the fourth establishment in the hotel collection developed by Benjamin Erisoglu.

Guardians of time, the classified plane trees The parks, close to three centuries old, continue to set the rhythm of life on the estate. Here, every moment is an invitation to slow down, to savour, to breathe.

The Estate

3 hectares between Sèvre and vineyards.

Château du Portereau covers an area of 3-hectare park at the gates of Nantes, on the banks of the Sèvre Nantaise. From the château to the pavilion, passing by the orangery and the waterside guinguette, each space creates a unique art of living, between conviviality and refinement.

The 26 rooms and suites are divided between the château and the old pavilion, offered in five categories — Classic, Superior, Deluxe, Junior Suite, and Junior Prestige Suite — ranging from 16 to 37 m². Each overlooks the park, fountain, or estate, for a stay where tranquillity and elegance naturally go hand in hand.

Gastronomy

LA SIGNATURE ATTILIO, BETWEEN TERROIR AND CREATIVITY.

The restaurant The Attilio Vertou follows the culinary tradition initiated by Chef Attilio Marrazzo in Paris, then in Briollay. The menu offers cuisine combining generosity, finesse and precise execution, enhanced by Fresh and seasonal produce from local suppliers.

Whether indoors or on the terrace during fine weather, the atmosphere is elegant and warm. Bar Extend the experience with a selection of wines from the Nantes vineyard and a menu of inspired cocktails, at the unhurried pace of the passing hours.

On the banks of the Sèvre, the Riverside café offers a completely different register: cool drinks, small plates to share, concerts and festivities from the start of the season. A place for conviviality and celebration outdoors, in the festive spirit of the riverside.
