The art of French living, combining heritage, gastronomy, and nature
A centuries-old heritage.
First mentioned in 1212 under the name of its lord Matheus de Noereus, the Noirieux estate carries over eight centuries of history. The manor house was built in the 15th century, followed by the outbuildings the following century. In 1504, Pierre de Couasnon founded the Saint-Joseph chapel, still visible today. In 1654, Pierre Tréton had the castle as we know it built nearby: a sober and elegant building, characteristic of the Louis XIV style, overlooking the Loir valley.
Built from tufa stone – the noble material of the grand Loire Valley residences – and topped with Trélazé slates, the château and manor house bear witness to remarkable heritage craftsmanship. The estate has been partially listed as a Historic Monument since 1990 and has held the Relais & Châteaux label since 1995.
In 2021, the Ben Touch Group acquired the Château de Noirieux and embarked on a six-month-long, large-scale renovation, guided by a clear ambition: to preserve the historic soul of the property while incorporating contemporary, high-end comfort. Today, the estate embodies the Group's vision of the French art de vivre, combining heritage, gastronomy, and nature.
9 hectares in the heart of the Loire Valley.
Nestled in the village of Briollay, just 15 minutes from Angers, the Château de Noirieux stretches across a 9-hectare park overlooking the Loir valley. From the château to the manor house, by way of the chapel and the orangery, every stone tells the story of the place.
The 19 rooms and suites are spread across the 17th-century château and the 15th-century manor house. Each offers unique décor and views of the gardens, the valley, or the wooded park, for complete immersion in the calm of the Anjou countryside.
A gastronomic destination.
Building on the success of his first Parisian restaurant on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, Chef Attilio Marrazzo continues his culinary adventure at the Château de Noirieux. Trained by Joël Robuchon and at the Four Seasons in Milan, he offers contemporary French cuisine with Italian influences at his restaurant, L’Attilio, enhanced by local Anjou produce.
In a setting that is both elegant and rustic, each dish is an invitation to travel: bold flavours, masterful techniques and a deep respect for the ingredients, for an unforgettable gastronomic experience. The restaurant benefits from a selection in the Michelin Guide.
