Amidst the Muscadet vineyards and the banks of the Sèvre Nantaise, a 19th-century château is beginning its new life. On 12th May 2026, Château du Portereau officially opened its doors as a 4-star hotel. Behind this metamorphosis: the Ben Touch group and an investment of €10 million.

From Maisons du Monde to Ben Touch: an ambitious career change.

The Château du Portereau is no stranger to the Nantes landscape. For over twenty years, from 2003 to 2024, the estate housed the head office of Maisons du Monde. When the brand left the premises, Benjamin Erisoglu, founder and president of Ben Touch Group, saw an opportunity: to transform this exceptional heritage into a place of hospitality worthy of its history.
The works lasted several months. The objective was to preserve the soul of the château while equipping it with the standards of a contemporary 4-star hotel.

26 rooms, a restaurant, a spa and an orangery.

Today, Le Château du Portereau offers 26 rooms spread between the main château and the former pavilion, set in two hectares of parkland bordering the Sèvre Nantaise. The estate includes a Franco-Italian restaurant, a spa, a heated swimming pool, a seasonal guinguette (riverside bistro), and a 200 m² orangery that can accommodate up to 400 people for seminars and events.
This positioning – between charming accommodation and event capacity – distinguishes Le Portereau from the classic establishments in the Nantes metropolitan area.

Ben Touch's Hospitality & Catering division is expanding.

With the Château du Portereau, the Ben Touch group adds a third hotel establishment to its portfolio, after the Château de Noirieux (Relais & Châteaux in Briollay) and its Shaman Spa. The Hotel and Gastronomy division thus completes its presence in the greater West, between Angers, Nantes and the Atlantic coast.

The opening of Le Portereau confirms the group's diversification strategy, which was built on home renovation before expanding into hotels, gastronomy with the L'Attilio restaurants (Paris, Briollay, Vertou, Port Bourgenay), and investment in innovative projects.

A €10 million investment rooted in the local area.

The choice of Vertou is not insignificant. On the outskirts of Nantes, between vineyards and the river, the Château du Portereau is situated in a territory undergoing rapid tourism growth. The €10 million investment reflects the group's conviction: French built heritage deserves to be preserved, enhanced, and opened to the public.
