The French leader in home renovation is not stopping at borders. After a first master franchise in Portugal opened in 2023, Technitoit is accelerating its international strategy with two new markets in its sights: Belgium and Spain.
Portugal as an international laboratory.
In June 2023, Technitoit reached a decisive milestone by opening its first master franchise outside of France, in Portugal. The choice was not insignificant: a market where home renovation is in high demand, a climate conducive to roofing and façade issues, and cultural proximity that facilitates the transfer of the model.
The results of this first international experiment have confirmed the relevance of the Technitoit model beyond France's borders. The manufacturer-applicator concept, which is the strength of the network in France, exports well: the products from the Smart Lab work in other regions, and the teams' know-how is effectively passed on through the franchise system.
Belgium: a natural market.
Belgium represents a logical expansion for Technitoit. The Belgian property market, particularly in Wallonia and Brussels, presents similar challenges to those encountered in France: aging roofs, degraded facades, and insufficient insulation. The regulatory framework is also evolving towards increased requirements for the energy performance of buildings.
The Ben Touch group already has a presence in Belgium, which facilitates the structuring of the franchise network there. The goal: to deploy the Technitoit agency model with the same level of support as in France – training, exclusive products, marketing support.
Spain: sun, facades, and solar energy.
Spain offers different but equally promising potential. The Spanish property market, marked by the construction boom of the 2000s, is reaching an age where renovation is becoming essential. Facades, flat roofs and thermal insulation represent rapidly expanding markets.
Furthermore, the Spanish sunshine opens up possibilities for solar self-consumption solutions offered by Europe Energie, another brand within the Ben Touch group. The Spanish expansion could therefore involve several brands within the group, not just Technitoit.
A controlled growth strategy.
The Ben Touch group is not rushing. The international strategy is based on the master franchise model: a strong local partner, trained in the group's methods and products, who develops the network of branches in their territory. This approach allows for growth without dispersing resources and guarantees the same level of quality as in France.
With network turnover of €108 million in 2023, annual growth of 10% in Q3, and having been named Best Franchise for four consecutive years, Technitoit has the foundations in place to make this European expansion a success.
